31 Days of Selena Day 11

Day 11

In case you haven't noticed, I LOVE Selena's hair, because this is the 3rd day I'm talking about it! lol. Now I already mentioned my three favorite hairstyles from her (Day 10) but I also love this ginormous ponytail she sported for the year of 91 and the summer of 92. I mean it's Selena's creativity at it's best. The ponytail she picked out is amazing! It's a 3 row braided crown at the top of the big fluffy curly ponytail. At the time of this look, "Ven Conmigo" was hot, she finally crossed over in Mexico with "Baila Esta Cumbia" and in the U.S. and she showed off her great Janet/Paula inspired dancing skills whenever she would perform "Enamorda de Ti", not only that but her performance at the TMAs showed off her amazing vocal abilities as an artist. She had signed with EMI Latin back in 1989 and was recording and testing out some English songs, "Is It The Beat?", "Only Love", and "Where Did the Feeling Go?" shows the bright future she would've had in the English market. "Is It The Beat" and "Where Did The Feeling Go?" show the range she could do both vocally and musically, and do it so easily without any effort. "Where Did The Feeling Go?" really is a Top 40 song, along with "Only Love", those two songs are right up there with Celine Dion's famous ballad and that's says A LOT! And the classiness of it all! The dress she wore, was just the right length, and showed just the right amount of skin, again, sexy-classy, and the fact that it was an LBD (little black dress) gives her major kudo points on my list. This must have been where Chris fell in love, because they secretly started dating in the fall of that year, August to be exact. Just to think that she was only 19 at the time of this performance. Wow! Ponytail
