Oh how I LOVE this trend, cat eye glasses, full skirts, one piece jumpsuits, floppy hats, and stripes, what does this all add up to? RETRO! We have to first and foremost thank Marc Jacobs for recently putting it out there during Fashion Night Out fashion show. And oh how beautiful it was, bouffant hairdos, with dresses with full skirts and kitten heels, that screamed 50s/60s. I would also like to thank Mad Men for making it even more popular.
The lovely Heidi Klum wore a Marc Jacobs 70s inspired dress to the 2011 Golden Globes Awards, which was fun, and very California, and as always she totally fit the part.
So whatever decade you choose do it well and have fun!

Awards season if here! Golden Globes Edition
FINALLY! The Awards season has started off with Golden Globes Award. I will be posting up my FAVORITE looks of the night. And let's start off with the insanely beautiful and my favorite actress Natalie Portman. I swear she is a living doll. Natalie is glowing with her baby bump and engagement ring in this beautiful pre-Valentines day dress designed by Viktor and Rolf with Tiffany jewelry. Classy as always.
Of course no best dressed list would be complete without the La Diva Lopez. Mrs. Anthony, better know as J.Lo dressed in a beautiful white gown with a jeweled caplet designed by Zuhair Murad, her makeup and hair were both elegant and classic. Jennifer being the diva that she was wore Harry Winston diamonds! 5 million for those rocks! And to complete the ensemble every female celebrity shoe designer, Louboutin.
Of course I couldn't just have her on this list once. She looked smokin hot with her retro hair do reminiscence of Veronica Lake in the 1940s at the Vanity Fair party wearing a pink feathered mini dress by Marchesa and yet again Louboutin shoes.
Next on the list is Olivia Wilde in another Marchesa, one word. BEAUTIFUL! She kept it simple with straight hair and minimal jewelry, letting the gorgeous dress do all the talking!
Another favorite of mines is Anne Hathaway. I have to admit it didn't strike me at first but it grew on me. And she looked great, it was a good change for her, and the back was oh so Hilary Swank, which I absolutely love. She is wearing a bronze Giorgio Armani Prive gown, ring from Van Cleef & Arpels wit ha red clutch, her soft curls and great smile, complete the ensemble.
Next up is Diana Argon in J. Mendel all I can say is classic Hollywood, she reminds of Grace Kelly, the curls, the necklace, and dress are very Grace Kelly and she pulled it off very well.
Carrie Underwood is sparkling like the star that she's in, in Badgely Mischka with Swarovski clutch proudly showing off her wedding ring she keeps the look simple with a beautiful up do. I'm glad she got it right this time because the dresses she wore at the CMAs last year, were just...moving on to next starlet.
Milla Jovovich in gray Giorgio Armani Prive. Milla who was once a former model strikes a pose on red carpet, and she does it so well. This is a very beautiful gown from the designer, and it's a gown I would love to have in my closet. I love the once again, 1940s curls; which was a very popular hairstyle on the red carpet.
Heidi Klum wouldn't be Heidi if she stayed on the straight and narrow with what everyone else was wearing, beautiful evening gowns. She is sticking with the trend that has pretty much planted itself in 2011, the 70s. While everyone is starting to get into the trend that is already abuzz, Heidi beat everyone to it, wearing Marc Jacobs gown inspired by the 70s to complete the look, she even has 70s like bangles. She's one of my favorite models, so I always give kudos for her doing something different but keeping it fun and very Heidi.
Sandra Bullock always the classy one, is wearing Jenny Packham beautiful gown, very dreamy, but the only thing that makes it on the worst dressed list for some was the hair, the bangs cover her face, and they make her look gloomy in my opinion, a simple chignon would've done.
Oh how I love Scarlett Johansson, and while some thought it looked too matronly I loved. It, it was reminiscent of the late 30s and early 40s in this nude color Elie Saab with the jeweled beret to up sweep her hair she totally embodies the retro look, that I oh so love. Mucho props!
So to end this blog, I wanted to post up two more of my favorite looks, one is of Mandy Moore, although I don't know the designer's name, she was breathtaking in this beautiful strapless ocean blue gown.
And last is an actress that I completely forgot her name, but this dress is beautiful! Again, they don't mention the designer's name, but it's a dress I would love to wear!
Until next award show, bye!

New Year, New Trends!
So it's a week into the new year, and you know what that means! It's new everything! New year resolution, new looks, and in fashion, new trends! So the new trends in fashion are: bell bottoms, tassels, tail hems, stripes, and jumpsuits just to name a few.
Bell Bottoms
The 70s are in for a comeback with bell bottoms on both men and women. So gone are the boyfriend jeans, and in for the flare and but tailored denim pants. Relaxation all year around!
Tassels
Tassels are not just for home decor. They are make any outfit look luxurious. Now I'm sure you're wondering what in the world I'm talking about. But as you will see tassels are fun. Tassels were seen on men's loafers, and women's purses but are now the hottest trends, some have been worn as necklaces, others have been on gladiator style sandals. Now they're being used at trimmings on dresses and other clothing.
Tail Hems
Tail hems have been seen on the red carpet every now and then, they've also been seen in men's clothing only by choice not by design. For instance, a man might have the front shirt of his tucked in his jeans with a belt and have the back hanging out. Well now this has transferred to the women's department. In the form of dresses, and skirts. So minis and maxis are out, fun in the front sweet in back.
Stripes
Who said stripes were just for sailors? Stripes are making their way into Spring this year. Although stripes are seen as more nautical then anything they're making their presence very known. If you're into the 70s look, you can pair those bell bottom jeans with a striped shirt. Or you can wear solid color dress and have a striped floppy hat to also give a 70s look. Even the lovely Jacqueline Kennedy wore stripes.
Jumpsuit
Guess who has made a return to the fashion scene? The lovely jumpsuits, another 70s staple that is coming back for the Spring. Just because it's a 70s piece doesn't mean it hasn't been around in the past 30 years. Remember a little known singer by the name of Jennifer Lopez a.k.a. J.Lo? She made it big back in 2001, and although it was a short lived piece a few years ago in the summer, please note it will be around for awhile.
